What happened?

  • I visited Marina Barrage to fly kites and play in the water with my family.

  • I went for a 3 hour CIP to sell merchandise for charity with 2 of my classmates.

  • I started on a felt stuff toy for my friend's birthday gift.

What worked? Why?

  • I managed to finish one whole story book withing one day and one night because I read it whenever I had the time.

  • I successfully finished online one math quiz assigned by the teacher and got full marks because I payed alot of attention to the questions and did it carefully on a piece of paper. Also, I am better at this topic.

  • For CIP, we managed to sell alot of merchandise because we were friendly and opened our mouths.

What did not work? Why?

  • I abandoned my first stuff toy because I did not have enough self-discipline to continue and had too much desire for perfection.

  • I did not journal for a few days because I had nothing to write about and had not enough self-discipline.

  • I am stuck halfway for my Geography project because I do not have enough self-discipline and have not enough grasp of the current topic.

What did I learn?

  • I learnt that helping others brings happiness.

  • I learnt that concentration is very important while doing work.

  • I learnt that we must learn to open our mouth and speak at the correct times because people would not understand if we don't.

  • Self-discipline is very important in everything we do.

What can I do better next time?

  • I should instill more self-discipline.

  • I should concentrate and do the questions carefully on future homework.

  • I should open up and speak appropriately at the correct times.

Journal Writing- 28/5/11 and 29/5/11

What happened?
- I attended a guides performance with my 2 platoonmates and my asm and usm:) It wasn't compulsory but I went just because it is funner than staying at home.
- For piano lessons, I had to decide whether to switch teachers for theory or not.
- I planned my schedule for the holidays on a planner.

What worked?
- I enjoyed the guides performance thing and had a great time with my platoonmates:) I think this was because we... let go and enjoyed ourselves??
- I managed to come to a desicion to switch teachers because my teacher did not have time to teach me for theory and I think a new teacher would be better as we can start afresh from the beginning.
- I thought that the planning of my schedule would be really tedious but it wasn't actually and went quite smoothly. My schedule includes school homework, my own revision and PLAYING time:)

What did not work?
- I did not jog at all today. I think this was because I had not enough self-discipline and now that my NAPFA is over I have even less self-discipline.
- I did not play very well during piano class. This was because I did not practice enough.
- Our platoon outing is still not planned yet. So is our ex-class outing. Everybody is waiting for someone to plan it. I think I should plan it.

What did I learn?
-I learnt that if everybody thinks that someone else would do something and because of that does not want to do that thing anymore, things would not work.
- I should voice out my opinions more.

What can I do better next time?
- Voice out my opinions more. Force myself to think.
- Have more self-discipline.
- Volunteer to organise stuff.

What Happened Recently

Hello!

Its been long since I wrote in my blog.

I decided to write in my blog because I am afraid that one day I might forget my password.

So, I cannot remember anything that happened recently that is very unforgetable.

Lets's see, oh!

I got a volleyball!

Actually I asked for a netball, but in the end I still got a volleyball and I did not regret.

I like my ball alot.

The crew took pictures of all her weird stuff and her weird outfit(a fedora and a shirt that was her great-grandfather's). When the magazine came out, she became a laughing stock. A few days later, U Grl called Zoe to meet up. Her younger sister thinks that they will give her a total make-over. Immunization Day

Today, I had my immunization and health check-up.

It was fantastic.

My September One Week Holidays

My September one week holidays were great!

I got to stay in a fabulous condominium with a great swimming pool.

We brought lots of stuff as we were not staying in a hotel.

It was so cool!

I even brought my piano there too practice!

We swam every day.

I am so sad holidays past so quickly.

One school day is like a million years while a week of holidays are like only 1 hour!

I am looking forward to my December holidays but then I'll have to take my Abacus exam.

Last year I went to Hong Kong and missed the exam...

It cost $20 and NO refund...

A Memorial Trip to Singapore's NDP Preveiw

On Saturday, 11th July 2009, we were to arrive at school at 2:00pm for an excursion to watch Singapore's National Day Parade Preview.

I brought along a Hello Kitty Bag with these things inside it: a water bottle, some bread, sweets, a poncho, a cap and most importantly, a thermometer.

Why is the thermometer so important?

Its the H1N1 period!

If we take our temperatures and realize we have a fever, we are not allowed to enter the stadium.

I was sooo excited!

On that day, I reached the school, took our temperature and waited for a long, long time.

Finally, our class set off.

In the bus, my friend played with a hand phone.

Oh yes! I brought also brought along a Sony hand phone which my mother borrowed from her colleague with lots of phones which she doesn't need.

It was very cool having a phone for my own as I do not have one.

We alighted at the Esplanade ( a Singapore tourist attraction), and started walking all the way to the Marina Floating Stadium.

It was a long, long way (by foot).

Along the way, we saw dark and heavy clouds coming our way.

We predicted it would rain, because we were so hot, but it did not.

When we reached the stadium, it then started to rain.

Our seats were wet and we were forced to seat on them.

I did not expect it to rain, but I didn't know more was coming our way!

We were told to put on our ponchos and we did.

About two minutes later, the drizzle stopped.

We took out our ponchos.

We again waited until 5:00pm for the show to start.

Meanwhile, we received out fun pack.

It was packed with some fun stuff that we use in the show like the drum with a drumstick in the shape of a cute bean and a heart that could light up in either red or white.

If everybody turns on their 'hearts', believe me, look around and its really, really beautiful.

Too bad I can't capture it on the camera from my phone.

Everything was far too small.

The fun pack was also filled with lots of sweets, a magazine, tattoos, a rubbish bag, an extra poncho, packet drinks and of course, Singapore's National Flag,

The show started.

We saw the Red Line, a parachuting team which parachuted from a very high distance.

We saw the dances, formations, the marching , the acting and of course the constant fireworks that appeared at every ending of a 'chapter'.

Mark Lee and Michelle Chong was there!

Once in a while it drizzled and as usual only for a few minutes, so I decided that during the next drizzle, I would not put on my poncho.

Who knows? The next drizzle was didn't stop and instead became a downpour!

I was drenched from my head to my sloppy toes and so were my friends.

The weird thing is that the downpour came exactly at the final fireworks!

It was the first heavy downpour for Singapore since the hot seasons of May and June.

I was struggling to put on my poncho and look at the beautiful fireworks and cover my ears at the same time.

Too bad I couldn't cover my ears.

It was the first time I did not cover my ears and I enjoyed it very much.

It was a great experience being showered with heavy rain and confetti under the light and sound of the fireworks.

When it was over, we had to wait in the rain for all the people to disperse and then we could go.

We kept complaining and groaning about being so cold and 'I didn't expect this!', but underneath I knew this was the experience of my life and was extremely fun.

We walked to where we alighted before and boarded the bus.

We were delayed and my parents were already waiting for me in school.

I fetched my friend home as the rain was too heavy for her parents to fetch her.

Oh yes, and my fun pack was totally wet, especially the magazine, torn and soggy.

It was really a good experience and I am really very lucky to be a Singaporean Primary 5 this year to get to watch the show and experience the DOWNPOUR!

Awww...

About almost half of the school holidays are over.

Time passes so quickly when we are enjoying.

Time passes slowly when we are not enjoying.*___*
